Residing in Berkeley, CA, Mark Schatz is a true renaissance man of acoustic music, celebrated for his masterful bass playing and clawhammer banjo skills. A two-time IBMA Bass Player of the Year, he's contributed to iconic bluegrass recordings by legends like Tony Rice, Bela Fleck, and Nickel Creek.
Mark's solo albums, Brand New Old Tyme Way and Steppin' in the Boiler House, showcase his original compositions. In 2021, he released GRIT & POLISH, a chart-topping album recorded with Bryan McDowell.

Beyond music, Mark is a skilled dancer and performer, blending his talents into a captivating stage show.
